The signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between NEXIM Bank and CIBN took place in the Conference Room of NEXIM House on the 22st of December 2006.
The MOU has among others the following specific objectives:
- Develop an export curriculum which will be incorporated into the CIBN course programme to enhance the understanding of Export Financing and Export Development in the financial community.
- Leveraging upon the relationship with Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC) to conduct periodic in-plant and off site training to enhance NEXIM Staff development.
- Organize annual enlightenment programme to be called 'Annual Export Conference' to be held together with NEXIM Export Performance Award which will serve to educate and recognize deserving members of the export community.
- Undertake occasional studies to investigate developments of interest in the export sector.
- NEXIM, as a member of the Institute, shall take advantage of the Alternative Dispute Resolution apparatus offered through the Bankers' sub committee on ethics and professionalism to resolve cases of indebtedness and default by participating banks.
- NEXIM may, without commitment or prejudice, recommend the services of CIBN Consulting to its clients for purpose of preparing the business plans and feasibility reports required to support their request for export support.
The MD/CEO NEXIM Bank, Alhaji Baba Yusuf Ahmed, signed the agreement on behalf of NEXIM Bank while Ag. registrar/Chief Executive CIBN, Dr. Uju Ogubunka signed on behalf of CIBN.
In attendance as witnesses to the agreement were NEXIM Bank’s Executive Director (Management Services) Mr. Lateef Balogun and Chief N. A. Folarin (CIBN).
