MR. TUNDE LEMO IS
NEXIM BANK'S CHAIRMAN
Following
his appointment as Deputy Governor in charge of Financial Sector
Surveillance of CBN, Mr. Tunde Lemo, becomes the Chairman, Board
of Directors of NEXIM Bank. He succeeds Dr. Shamsuddeeen Usman who
now Heads the Operations Section of the Apex Bank.
Mr. Tunde Lemo is a 1984 graduate of Accountancy from the University
of Nigeria, Nsukka. A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
of Nigeria, Mr. Lemo started his professional career at Arthur Andersen
& Co Chartered Accountants, from where he proceeded to SCOA
Nig. PLC as Consolidation Manager. He was to join the services of
Chartered Bank Limited in 1989 as Credit Officer. Mr. Lemo was at
one time Unit Head, Investment Banking and Head Treasury Department
of Equitorial Trust Bank. He was briefly with Manufacturers’
Merchant Bank and Peak Merchant Bank, before joining the services
of WEMA Bank in 1995. While in WEMA Bank, he traversed virtually
all the operational departments and rose through various positions.
At various times, he was Deputy General Manager (Retail Banking
Group), General Manager (Corporate Banking Group) and Executive
Director (Credit and Relationship Management).
He was to leave the services of WEMA Bank as the Managing Director/Chief
Executive Officer when he was appointed Deputy Governor (Financial
Sector Surveillance) for Central Bank of Nigeria on 2nd January
2004.
